Yea it has been proven over and over its hard to make the transition from colege to pros, i am betting its probably difficult in the other direction also. Yea Martin Newton and Billy Packer maybe as co-coaches!

Tubby shows about as much enthusiasm as a rock. I've said it over and over... Pitino can out coach Tubby anyplace anytime. Tubby is a good coach but I don't see him as being one of the elite. Saying this about Pitino and I really don't care for him much at all.
It's my dream for Riley to coach the Cats. You also have to look at Mark Few. Lord knows what he could do with a top tier school. Dan Issel is a good coach. He would be interesting to see also. There's always Calipari, Billy D., and Steve Lavin...

You had me until you said Lavin.

He is a pretty good coach. I don't guess he fits in with the others but I was just naming coaches off the top of my head. He didn't do too much with UCLA after all. I'll have to cross him out and replace him with Sean Sutton...

If that were to ever happen I'd turn orange and start pulling for the Vols!

For those of you who were wondering i was kidding when I threw out Steve Lavin's name earlier today. If I had to name the best college basketball coach I have ever seen all the way around, I would have to pick Pitino. Not my favorite person but its undeniable what the man can do on the sidelines in college. With that said he isnt coming back, even if Tubby left. Coach K is up there he isnt coming if Tubby left. Lute Olson generally ranked up there he isnt coming if Tubby left. Roy Williams he isnt coming if Tubby left. I see nothing all that special about John Calipari. I will give you Pat Riley and Mark Few as being good choices, if Tubby left!
My entire point of this post was the candidates that are better then Tubby are limited to a very few who would come if offered the job! There isnt very many of those guys sporting even half as many national coach of the year awards as Tubby. He does have his flaws and weaknesses like every coach but who doesnt. Plus who WOULD replace him realistically that would be better?

Maybe Billy D, maybe but I wouldn't want him. Even Travis Ford is getting his resume in order to take a turn. I'd like Phelph, Riley, Issel or maybe even Macy.

Not to answer for the Baron but I feel many UK fans would like to see a UK grad and a Kentucky boy coaching UK.

Have you seen Pelphrey's record since he has been the head man at South Alabama? He may be someone who is better as an assistant coach, if Hobbs ever left John may be a good replacement for him.
